IS TRAINING WITH YOUR OWN BODY WEIGHT AS EFFECTIVE AS WITH WEIGHTS?

If you want to train your muscles and strength, it can be tempting to train with dumbbells and barbells, rather than doing push-ups, lunges and other bodyweight exercises. There is a common assumption that training with only your own body weight is too simple to be effective in building strength and muscle.

Bodyweight exercises are not only effective for building muscle but can also reduce the risk of injury as it is a gentler workout. A big plus is that you can do it anywhere, anytime.

Beginners can build muscle with bodyweight training. Bodyweight exercises are good for people who do not have a gym membership or access to our bodyweight bands. Working with your own body weight is especially beneficial for beginners, whose own weight is a sufficient stimulus to improve muscle size and strength.

Bodyweight training helps athletes build strength and muscular endurance. The form of training is very popular among MMA fighters and boxers, because they need a combination of muscular endurance - from low weight, high rope training - and explosive power. In fact, bodyweight training has huge benefits for all sports where you need to move your body vigorously and effectively.

A preconceived notion is that bodyweight training is not hard and heavy training. But think about it. Bodyweight training in our Bodyweight bands where you only work with your bodyweight can load as much as you weigh. If you weigh 80 kilos, it is 80 kilos you have to work with in, for example, biceps curl, shoulder press, back pull, etc. We all agree that it is not easy training.
