There are lots of things you can do from a chair or sofa - squats, tricep dips, sit-ups, push-ups, and more, just the imagination sets limits. Exercising with your own body weight is something that everyone is able to exercise. If you have children at home, you can engage them as well. This workout is for everyone!
Exercising at home works well for anyone, even in healthy times. But especially today when we have to isolate ourselves to reduce the risk of infection. As long as we can be outside, walking is recommended, but stay a few meters from other people. You can also run or take a bike ride - provided you keep your distance from others. Make exercise a natural part of your day, there is so much to gain from it. Remember that a little exercise is better than no exercise. Try to do what you can!
Exercise and training reduce stress and anxiety. Everyone is stressed right now and people are not sleeping well, not sleeping well leads to other negative health aspects. If you get started and exercise, you will probably sleep better and thereby feel significantly better.
The group that is particularly vulnerable is our elderly. But that does not stop training. Training for the elderly has shown fantastic results. Strength and balance exercises are especially important. In the past, people were probably a little afraid to encourage the elderly to do strength training. They worried that they would be overloaded. But it usually goes well if you take it a little carefully in the beginning. Ten minutes at a time three days a week is a sufficient start. If you are older and healthy, try to start with your training, the health effects will not be long in coming.
