The value of bodyweight exercises is often underestimated. Bodyweight training means that you use your own body as resistance instead of weights, machines or other equipment. Typical examples of exercises are sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, lunges, squats, and plank.
Benefits such as a stronger body, better balance, mobility, versatility, and the cost of your workout give bodyweight training a big plus. Below are more benefits of bodyweight training.
1. EFFICIENT. The biggest benefit of bodyweight training is that you can build strength without spending lots of hours in the gym. Even though bodyweight training involves a lot of strength training, you can still burn calories. With bodyweight training, you train all the muscles in the body depending on what exercises you do. For example, squats and lunges give you strength in the legs, sit ups give you strength in the abdominal muscles, push-ups give you good training for the chest, shoulders, back and arms. Bodyweight training can help improve both strength and fitness levels in a very short time. Bodyweight training makes you stronger, more toned and in better shape. You can also practice some exercises that work more with fitness which in turn improves your heart health.
2. PRICE PICTURE. One of the best things about bodyweight training is that it is cost effective and inexpensive. There is no need for advanced equipment and you do not need a membership in a gym to do some really good bodyweight exercises. Some exercises such as push-ups, sit-ups and lunges do not require any equipment. You may want a yoga mat for some exercises to make it a little more comfortable, or a pull-up bar to do chins (hanging you pull yourself up to your chin), but that equipment costs much less than a monthly subscription to a gym. So the result - Bodyweight training is a good alternative to other expensive training solutions. This is one of the reasons why bodyweight training has become so popular all over the world, because you can get in shape without spending a lot of money so anyone can do it.
3. BETTER BALANCE AND FLEXIBILITY. Bodyweight training also improves your balance and flexibility. For example, push-ups or squats with one leg at a time (the gun) force you to balance and engage your torso stability. In the beginning, it can be difficult to do all the exercises perfectly, but training gives skill. Bodyweight exercises can also make you much more flexible. The different types of bodyweight exercises force you to engage all your muscles and lead through a series of movements, making you more flexible the more you do them. One of the best bodyweight exercises you can do to increase flexibility is yoga, as it involves a lot of poses that force you to increase flexibility.
4. VARIATION. A lot of strength and conditioning training can feel boring, but with bodyweight training you choose more yourself. You can mix and match more challenging exercises on certain days, use exercise bands or the environment around you, or simply change the order of your exercises to keep it fun.
5. ANYWHERE. Bodyweight training does not need any special equipment, which means you can do it anywhere. If you want to go to the gym, you can do that, but you can also work out at home or outdoors because it does not require any equipment.
CONCLUSION.
In addition to being fun, bodyweight training is a very effective form of exercise that is also good for both your cardiovascular health and which also gives your body an overall improvement in your strength. Because bodyweight training is so versatile and can be done anytime and anywhere, the chances are greater that the training will be off.
